About the Teacher

Johanna Espinosa is an artist who has been exhibiting her art internationally and nationally for over two decades. Her exposure to different cultures in the United States of America and Nicaragua has influenced her art, which is celebrated for its vibrant palette and subject matter that often captures shapes and movement. Her art can be found in different collections, such as The Nicaraguan Central Bank Collection, The Ohio State University, and The Wexner Center for the Arts. Apart from being an artist, Johanna has also designed brand strategies for various companies in the US and internationally, including Nekupe, Biosortia, Univenture, UniKeepTM, among others. Before Nekupe, she managed marketing campaigns and was responsible for the ongoing development and creation of the Univenture corporate identity across different mediums. As a design consultant for the Nicaraguan Institute for Small and Medium-Sized Industries, she planned international events to promote and market Nicaraguan handcrafts and ceramics. Additionally, she has served as a Webmaster for the Center for Latin American Studies at The Ohio State University, illustrated children's books, and received awards for national and international art exhibitions. Johanna holds a Masters in Fine Arts from The Ohio State and a Masters in Education from Framingham State University in Boston.
